Hypotec is looking for Remote Mortgage Loan Underwriters!

Hypotec has been and currently is an established leader in the Mortgage Industry for the past 17+ consecutive years! With licensing in 18+ different states (and growing!), we have solidified our position in serving communities on a national level, for their mortgage needs.

We are currently looking for Underwriters to join our growing team of professionals!

Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Authorizing and underwriting loans
  • Reviewing and verifying loan applications and supporting documentation
  • Analyzing loan risk and requesting additional information as necessary
  • Preparing reports on assessment findings
  • Making loan eligibility decisions and approving or rejecting applications
  • Reviewing and specifying loan conditions as necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines
  • Documenting and effectively communicating reasons for the approval/rejection of loans
  • Returning applications with additional documentation to the loan officer for review
To qualify, you must meet some/all of the below requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Mortgage Loan Underwriter is a MUST
  • Previous experience using Encompass or Calyx
  • Previous experience working for multiple lenders
  • Previous experience working a file from start to finish
  • Previous experience running DU/LP
  • Willing to work in a team environment and coach junior members of the team
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude!
